Important Action Alert!

I am very pleased to announce that I have accepted a position as co-blogger over at doubleplusubdead's place. Seeing as how about 95% of the traffic I get* comes from him anyway, I figure it couldn't hurt. Some of the stuff I write will still be cross-posted here, and Lexington-centric posts will remain here exclusively. Becuase, let's face it, daddy need his Google Ads check.

So hop on over to DPUD's site and take a look around.

*Thanks to this post, the other 5% are comprised of people googling "vintage torture porn". Let's hear it for the Internet.

Light blogging notice.

I'll be working 8am - 4:30pm this week, without access to a computer all day.

It's pretty much a nightmare, but I'll try to make up for it when I get home each night.

In case you didn't notice...

I didn't really do any blogging today. Yeah, I know, I'm lazy. I had a choice between waking up at 7:30 am, going to a job interview, coming back and sleeping, or doing the interview and then blogging. Sleep won out.

What else would you expect from a moron?

I might blog form work tonight if something catches my eye, but otherwise you're on your own until tomorrow.

In the meantime, head over to CQ for round 3 of VP Madness. It's narrowed down to 8 (my choice is emphasized): Mike Huckabee vs. Mark Sanford, Tim Pawlenty vs. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Sarah Palin vs. Bobby Jindal, and Rob Portman vs. Charlie Crist.

Under the weather...

I don't really feel all that well, so I doubt I'll be blogging too much this weekend. Meanwhile, the fellas at Red State Update have a debate proposal for Obama and Clinton.

4.23.2008

Best. Democratic. Primary. Ever.

Ha. I love it. After the Pennsylvania primary, Sen. Hillary Clinton has now taken over the lead in the popular vote from Sen. Barack Obama. This is, of course, after Sen. Obama's campaign has said for weeks that the superdelegates should vote in line with the popular vote. Classic.

There might be some light blogging today. One of the downfalls of working second shift is that you wake up after everyone else has already covered major topics in-depth. Also, since the major story of the day seems to be something I know little about (Gen. Patraeus' being named Centcom commander) I'll just have to direct you to other people who are far more informed than me.

Song of the Day/Light Blogging

The song of the day is "Jesus, Etc." by Wilco. I have things to do today before work, so I might not blog as much as I would like.

Dumbruralcrackergate Links/Blogroll Update

I was working tonight, so I missed blogging about St. Sen. Barack Obama royally stepping in it. Here is the quote everyone's talking about, delivered at an exclusive fundraiser on billionaire's row in San Francisco:
So it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
For the time being, I'll just direct you to some bloggers more on the ball than I am. Ed Morrissey and Allahpundit are all over it, as usual. Pennsylvania native Michelle Malkin adds her thoughts. The boys over at PowerLine catch Obama spinning like a whirling dervish, and think that this might be the death knell of Obama's general election chances. Gateway Pundit points out the hypocrisy of Obama's statement. Zombie was on hand outside the event to for some citizen photojournalism.

I'm sure we'll hear more on this story over the weekend, and it should be interesting to hear Sens. Obama and Clinton spin this statement at their debate on April 16th. I'll probably blog my thoughts on it this weekend.

Also, the Club for Growth just started a new blog, VP Watch, that could prove helpful as summer nears. I'll have it in my blogroll as long as it remains relevant.

On a related side note, why do people keep putting Sen. Mel Martinez (R-FL) on lists of potential running mates for Sen. McCain? He was born in Cuba, and thus ineligible for that office.

No Blogging Until Wednesday

I am on my way to a job interview for a media relations position at a political magazine in DC, and I'm not taking my computer.

Rest assured, I'll have plenty to say on Wednesday. Wish me luck!

Movie of the Day/Light Blogging Notice

The Virgin Suicides, director Sofia Coppola's feature-length film.

Also, blogging may be light until around Wednesday. I have a big interview in Washington, DC on Tuesday, and I need to prepare. Wish me luck!

comment and email policy

for my first trick, i am going to blatantly steal karol's comment policy....

have a very lax comment policy, and here it is:

somewhat on topic is good, completely on another subject is bad.

praising me is good. praising me in a way that makes me think you're a homicidal stalker is bad.

picking on people while having a point is okay. picking on people for the hell of it-no good.

i delete comments very rarely but it does happen so try to keep these simple rules in mind when posting.

also, i usually don't respond in the comments. so if you're trolling around posting left-wing comments, and i don't respond, it's not because i'm scared of you and your ideas. it's more likely that i just don't think you're worth wasting my time.

i reserve the right to post any and all e-mail i receive to this site, as well as any contact information. so if you want to be threatening, keep that in mind. along the same lines, if you e-mail me something friendly and would like to remain anonymous, please tell me so.
