Dean:FAIL. Usually I would say it's good politics to try to diminish a political opponents selling points. For example, Republicans might be smart to say that Sen. Obama can give a good speech, but then note that his speeches are nothing more than verbal bumper stickers. But this is the type of faith that won't fly against John McCain.While we honor McCain's military service, the fact is Americans want a real leader who offers real solutions, not a blatant opportunist who doesn't understand the economy and is promising to keep our troops in Iraq for 100 years.
Sen. McCain has consistently taken positions that border on political lunacy, not "blatant opportunism". That's part of the reason conservatives are so distrusting of him.
