prediction time

i believe that sen. obama will get the democratic nomination and choose gov. kathleen sebelius (d-kansas) as his running mate.

why?

1) she's a woman (who is not named "hillary clinton"). identity politics are the most important thing to the democratic party.

2) she's a governor. she will have the executive experience that barack severely lacks.

3) she got elected and re-elected in a red state. what a great way to create the media span that the democrat ticket this year is "above politics" and "post-partisan"...without the necessity of choosing a defected republican, like sen. chuck hagel.

4) she's older than him. just as mccain needs a younger republican at the bottom of the ticket, barack needs someone older.

5) she's a woman.
